Arthur Hastings has been invited by his friend John Cavendish to stay at the Styles Court, owned by his step mother Emily Inglethorp. Hastings soon realizes that something is off about the relations among the family member.
When Mrs. Inglethorp is found dead in her room all the fingers are pointed on her new husband, Alfred Inglethorp. Due to lack of evidences, the matter is offered to Hercule Poirot, a retired Belgian ex-police detective and an old friend of Hastings' who is residing nearby.
The queen of crime Agatha Christie, never fails to surprise me by her marvellous and gripping stories. She just always blew-me-off by her writing style and I just love the way her stories ends. We can never guess what's coming next. Her style is completely unpredictable and I love that.
This is the first book starring the world famous detective, Hercule Poirot (I do have a special place in my heart for detectives ๐ โค).
I really enjoyed this book, it kept me guessing till the last. The first half of the book is little slow due to character development but I actually enjoyed that. As the investigation began, situation gets heaten-up and it becomes impossible to keep the book down.
It's a perfect and must read for thriller fans.
